The 2018 HET annual dinner-dance will be on Friday 03 August 2018 at Suikerbossie Restaurant, Hout Bay. We are planning a spectacular "Captain's Dinner"!! Tickets are R650 per person or R6500 per table of 10 pax.

Annual dinner-dance
Since 2012 the executive volunteer team has hosted a highly popular annual winter dinner dance where funds are raised by auctioning donated prizes.
Dinner – 11 August 2017, Suikerbossie, Hout Bay
The successful 6th HET Annual Dinner Dance was held at Suikerbossie Restaurant on 11 August 2017 with just under 200 guests attending [2016: 233 guests]. It was organised by a team of HET volunteers lead by Karen Temlett and raised R190 000 [2016: R250 000, 2015: R175 000]. It was an uplifting evening in celebration of the amazing achievement of the last year: a new preprimary school building in Hangberg and now a happy, safe, well managed haven for 109 pre-school children.
A big shout of thanks to our kind sponsors and supporters that made this evening and new school possible.
Wayne McKay kept guests on their toes, musician Guy Feldman and DJ Archie ensured that guests danced until the wee hours of the morning. Suikerbossie Restaurant’s service and fare was from the heavens and spot on time. Further, a R50 000 cheque handover from Rotary Club Am Kap1’s president Carole Armstrong-Hooper marked the club’s continued support of the school. Most importantly, the dinner allowed time for many old acquaintances from our Valley to be rekindled.

Dinner – 12 August 2016, Suikerbossie, Hout Bay
The 5th HET Dinner-Dance was a wonderful evening attended by 233 big-hearted guests and funds raised just over R250 000 (2015: R175 000). These funds were used towards the R350 000 school construction shortfall. The team’s warmest gratitude to the kind sponsors that made this possible with their generous donations of 113 items and more than 120 wine bottles. Further the exciting Support-a-child challenge was launched by Mr André Cheminais at the dinner. Mr Cheminais put out a challenge to all at the dinner to sponsor a child for a year at R4 000 per annum and he immediately pledged support for three children. Thank you to Mr Cheminais for starting this initiative.
Dinner – 31 July 2015, Suikerbossie Restaurant, Hout Bay
The 4th Hangberg Educational Trust Dinner-Dance was a wonderful evening attended by 220 supporters and helped raise just over R175 000 funds towards the building of quality preschool infrastructure for the young children of Hangberg. A big shout of thanks went out to the generous sponsors that made it possible with 67 items and 104 bottles of wine donated.
Dinner – 1 August 2014, Suikerbossie Restaurant, Hout Bay
The evening of 1 August 2014 was a roaring success with a total of 65 items and 152 bottles of wine donated and just under R150 000 raised from the auction and raffle ticket sales. The feedback from some of the 220 attendees indicated that the evening was fun and most importantly, awareness of the vision and building project was raised.
Dinner – 19 July 2013, Suikerbossie Restaurant, Hout Bay
On 19 July 2013 with a total of 49 items and 126 bottles of wine donated, by just under 50 sponsors and supporters HET raised R85 000 from the auction and raffle tickets with net profit for the evening at R58 000. A huge amount of fun was had by the 153 guests and most importantly a significant amount of excitement and buy-in was generated through the event.
Dinner – 20 July 2012, Suikerbossie Restaurant, Hout Bay
HET’s first annual dinner-dance was attended by 165 guests. With a total of 19 top quality items for the live- and silent auctions and wine donated by generous supporters HET raised R56 000. This was to be the first of many more to come!
